Bowels of the Republic of Uzbekistan have large reserves hydrocarbons. About of 60 % of the country’s area is potential for oil and gas. 211 hydrocarbon fields are opened in five oil and gas regions of Uzbekistan. There are 108 – gas and gas condensate, 103 – oil and gas, oil-gas condensate and oil from these fields. Over 50 % of oilfields are under development, 35 % are prepared for the development, and on the other exploration is going.
Currently, Uzbekistan ranks the 8th place in the world’s leading producer of natural gas. On January 1, 2005 predicted prospective resources of hydrocarbon were in gas - 5,903 trillion cubic meters, oil - 817,7 million tones, condensate – 360 million tones. Proved oil reserves in Uzbekistan are 530 million tones, natural gas – 3,4 trillion cubic meters.
Actuality of the exhibition “Oil Industry Expo” is due to a number of public programs in development of fuel and energy, chemical and petroleum industries.
It should be noted that Uzbekistan has developed a strategic program of exploration for oil and gas, calculated for the period 2005-2020 years, which includes an increase of hydrocarbon processing during this period in the amount of 1,15 billion tones of standard fuel. It is planned to ensure the growth of gas reserves in the amount of 1,015 trillion cubic meters for 15 years, oil – 69,8 million tones and condensate – 65,7 million tones. In this case, the bulk of the increase in gas reserves account is for Ustyurt region. Here its will be increased to 579 billion cubic meters, or 53,9 percent.
In particular, the large-scale work holds in the framework of the strategic program in the development of gas fields in Hauzaksk gas-field in Bukhara region with annual production of 3 billion cubic meters per year. This project is cooperation of the Uzbek professionals of oil and gas industry with Russian partners, designed for many years.
